Amira Kenya

Dear Lorenzo, It's Easter morning, Sunday, April 4th and two days ago our baby girl turned 12 years old. I still remember the moment we brought her home from the hospital. We laid her on our bed, thanked God for granting us this gift, and burst into happy tears at the notion that our family was now complete. And twelve years later, she's no longer our sweet little baby girl but is her own incredible, adventurous, frighteningly self-possessed young woman. She has your wicked sense of humor and unwavering self-confidence.  She has my compassion (but for animals only!) and love of the written word. She is going to be a force to be reckoned with one day. I wish you'd gotten a chance to get to know your adolescent daughter. I know how proud you would have been.
